There isn’t enough time or room for me to delineate and refute — with every example — the claim by Leftists, Demorats and the American Media Maggots that there is “no voter fraud.” The examples are beyond legion.

Under Bird, a group called “Victory 15” has been set up. V15 is financed by an NGO called “One Voice” whose motto is to be “the voice of mainstream Israelis and Palestinians.” Research finds that One Voice is funded by John Kerry’s State Department.

The attacks are the second confirmed IT scanning assault by DHS officials against states that resisted then-President Barack Obama’s attempt to increase federal involvement in state and local election systems by designating them as “critical infrastructure” for national security.
Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson, the incoming president of the association, told TheDCNF Tuesday that, “we know that between November 1 and December 16 we were scanned with about 14,800 scans, nearly 15,000 different times.”
The state’s IT team traced the intruder to a DHS computer’s IP address. The same DHS unit attempted 10 times in 2016 to hack into the Georgia electoral system.
Federal officials are barred under DHS rules from trying to penetrate a state system without the express approval of the state. Neither Georgia nor Indiana approved the DHS scanning attempts.

Mail-in voting, for many, is as simple as sending a letter, but rules vary across the country for when a voter can get their ballot and when it should be returned. In 2016, more than 73,000 out of 33 million mail-in ballots arrived too late to be counted.
What voter fraud?
The US Postal Service is no more prepared for this kind of explosion in volume and demand than the man in the moon. It is literally unprecedented. But that’s the point. If you Cloward-Piven the USPS, you help Trump lose.
So let’s be clear: there is a massive differentiation between “voting by mail” and absentee voting. In “voting by mail” everyone gets a ballot sent in the mail. Your dog, your dead Aunt Phoebe, people who lived in your apartment ten years ago.
With an absentee ballot — because that’s how I’ve voted for years — I had to purposely sign up at the voting office, provide ID, and swear that I wouldn’t go to my local polls in order to vote twice.
Because the US Postal Service is now under President Trump, and people are questioning the ability of the USPS to deliver the volume anticipated, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy must be in cahoots with Russia.
Why wouldn’t you want to tear down every occupier of a position during the Trump administration? As an aside, the Postmaster General is not appointed by the president, but by a postal board of governors with the advice and consent of the US Senate.

Washington (CNN)A government investigation concluded that the United States Postal Service “improperly coordinated” with a postal workers union that supported Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
The investigation, as documented in a report from the Office of Special Counsel, said the USPS granted employees union leave time off, at the request of the union, to do political activity — which OSC concluded was a “systematic violation” of a law regarding the political activity of federal employees.
The report said thepractice was longstanding, perhaps ranging as far back as the 1990s.
The report came in response to a request from Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson, who chairs a Senate committee that held a hearing Wednesday on the matter and asked representatives of government watchdogs why it went on so long. William Siemer, the acting deputy inspector general of the USPS’s inspector general’s office, indicated it was a case of institutional inertia.
“It seemed that it was adopted just as a practice where nobody was really looking at it through the lens of is this appropriate or not,” Siemer said.
The bias for Demorats is deeply ingrained and institutional in the USPS.

Confessions of a voter fraud: I was a master at fixing mail-in ballots

A top Democratic operative says voter fraud, especially with mail-in ballots, is no myth. And he knows this because he’s been doing it, on a grand scale, for decades.
Mail-in ballots have become the latest flashpoint in the 2020 elections. While President Trump and the GOP warn of widespread manipulation of the absentee vote that will swell with COVID polling restrictions, many Democrats and their media allies have dismissed such concerns as unfounded.
But the political insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he fears prosecution, said fraud is more the rule than the exception. His dirty work has taken him through the weeds of municipal and federal elections in Paterson, Atlantic City, Camden, Newark, Hoboken and Hudson County and his fingerprints can be found in local legislative, mayoral and congressional races across the Garden State. Some of the biggest names and highest office holders in New Jersey have benefited from his tricks, according to campaign records The Post reviewed.
“An election that is swayed by 500 votes, 1,000 votes — it can make a difference,” the tipster said. “It could be enough to flip states.”
The whisteblower — whose identity, rap sheet and long history working as a consultant to various campaigns were confirmed by The Post — says he not only changed ballots himself over the years, but led teams of fraudsters and mentored at least 20 operatives in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania — a critical 2020 swing state.
The fixers and fraudsters are all Leftist in nature or Demorats.
A Bernie Sanders die-hard with no horse in the presidential race, he said he felt compelled to come forward in the hope that states would act now to fix the glaring security problems present in mail-in ballots.
What voter fraud?
Then here it comes.
He would have his operatives fan out, going house to house, convincing voters to let them mail completed ballots on their behalf as a public service. The fraudster and his minions would then take the sealed envelopes home and hold them over boiling water.
That’s called “ballot harvesting.” That’s legal in Kalifornia.
He then would remove the real ballot, place the counterfeit ballot inside the signed certificate, and reseal the envelope.
“Five minutes per ballot tops,” said the insider.
And the fraudster confirmed what we already suspected. Now we know.
The tipster said sometimes postal employees are in on the scam.
“You have a postman who is a rabid anti-Trump guy and he’s working in Bedminster or some Republican stronghold … He can take those [filled-out] ballots, and knowing 95% are going to a Republican, he can just throw those in the garbage.”
In some cases, mail carriers were members of his “work crew,” and would sift ballots from the mail and hand them over to the operative.
Nursing homes. Great for ballot harvesting. Great for Governor Cuomo.
Hitting up assisted-living facilities and “helping” the elderly fill out their absentee ballots was a gold mine of votes, the insider said.
“There are nursing homes where the nurse is actually a paid operative. And they go room by room by room to these old people who still want to feel like they’re relevant,” said the whistleblower. “[They] literally fill it out for them.”

When all else failed, the insider would send operatives to vote live in polling stations, particularly in states like New Jersey and New York that do not require voter ID. Pennsylvania, also for the most part, does not.
The best targets were registered voters who routinely skip presidential or municipal elections — information which is publicly available.
What voter fraud?
The tipster said New Jersey homeless shelters offered a nearly inexhaustible pool of reliable — buyable — voters.
“They get to register where they live in and they go to the polls and vote,” he said, laughing at the roughly $174 per vote Mike Bloomberg spent to win his third mayoral term. He said he could have delivered the same result at a 70 percent discount — like when Frank “Pupie” Raia, a real estate developer and Hoboken nabob, was convicted last year on federal charges for paying low-income residents 50 bucks a pop to vote how he wanted during a 2013 municipal election.
And the inaccuracies and in efficiencies of mail-in balloting have already been proven in New York.
Over 80,000 mail-in ballots disqualified in NYC primary mess

The mail-in ballots of more than 84,000 New York City Democrats who sought to vote in the presidential primary were disqualified, according to new figures released by the Board of Elections.
The city BOE received 403,103 mail-in ballots for the June 23 Democratic presidential primary.
But the certified results released Wednesday revealed that only 318,995 mail-in ballots were counted.
That means 84,108 ballots were not counted or invalidated — 21 percent of the total.
And that’s just a sampling of what’s to come nationally. What if a full ONE FIFTH of national ballots in the November election weren’t counted?
And primarily who’s ballots wouldn’t get counted? Correct. Republicans. Because the R and the D are printed on the outside of EVERY ballot return envelope. It’s there if you look for it.
One out of four mail-in ballots were disqualified for arriving late, lacking a postmark or failing to include a voter’s signature, or other defects. The Post reported Tuesday that roughly 30,000 mail-in ballots were invalidated in Brooklyn alone.
But hey — who’s counting — literally? What voter fraud?
This is the perfect scam. Absentee ballots uncounted because the New York return envelopes are “pre-paid” metered mail and, to be counted, ballots must be post-marked with a date. Pre-paid envelopes aren’t post-marked with a date in New York.
This just New York. What happens nationally?

FBI investigates ballots for Trump found in Pennsylvania garbage

The Justice Department on Thursday said the FBI has opened an investigation into nine absentee ballots — seven cast for President Trump — that were found in the garbage near Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Trump routinely expresses doubt about the reliability of mail-in voting amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the investigation quickly became national news.
“At this point we can confirm that a small number of military ballots were discarded,” US Attorney David Freed said in a statement.
“Investigators have recovered nine ballots at this time. Some of those ballots can be attributed to specific voters and some cannot. Of the nine ballots that were discarded and then recovered, 7 were cast for presidential candidate Donald Trump,” Freed said.
“Two of the discarded ballots had been resealed inside their appropriate envelopes by Luzerne elections staff prior to recovery by the FBI and the contents of those 2 ballots are unknown.”
But even Fox News is “burying the lead,” because if you read the story, these aren’t really absentee ballots in Virginia. These are mail-in ballots. The nomenclature is entirely incorrect.

More than 1,000 Virginia voters who applied for absentee ballots have received an extra one in the mail, state Republican Party officials said Friday.
The mix-up comes shortly after a Democratic push to expand absentee voting in a bid to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. As a result, absentee ballots no longer require an excuse, and any registered voter is allowed to request one.
“We knew the Democrats many last-minute changes to our election law would make our elections less secure, but no one could imagine voters receiving two ballots,” Rich Anderson, the state’s GOP chairman, said in a statement.
Republicans knew it. Why didn’t Demorats know it? Oh, they knew. Knew it was going to benefit themselves.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal appeals court has temporarily halted a six-day extension for counting absentee ballots in Wisconsin.
The decision Sunday by the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is a momentary victory for Republicans and President Donald Trump in the key presidential battleground state.
As it stands, ballots will now be due by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
A lower court judge had sided with Democrats and their allies to extend the deadline until Nov. 9.
Democrats sought more time as a way to help deal with an expected historic high number of absentee ballots.
Why should anyone be allowed to vote after voting day? Polls have closed nationally by midnight at the latest.
There was voter fraud occurring in Virginia even before the Demorats officially began pushing for mail-in balloting “due to Wuhan-19.”

Because that’s where the “investigation” ends, right?
“Nothing to see here,” the TV station claims. “We’ve done all the inquiries you need. Case settled,” they insist.
They have incurious minds, like most “journalists” today. I don’t. I wanted to know more. My nose perked up. Something didn’t quite pass the smell test.
These mailers were sent by a “non-profit” and “non-partisan” private group called the Center For Voter Information. They’re “non-partisan” because they say they are. You believe that? I have the internet. Let’s look.
Under ABOUT US on the website, two people are predominantly featured. First is Page Gardner, listed as “CVI’s founder and board chair.”
“Page Gardner is a left-of-center activist who runs the Voter Participation Center, formerly the Women’s Voices, Women Vote organization. Gardner works to try and register unmarried women to vote; unmarried women tend to vote Democratic.”
And furthermore, in the very next paragraph, she has an admitted and documented history of doing exactly what happened to Virginians.
Gardner worked for Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign and maintained professional ties to the Clintons. She attempted to register voters to help Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2008; she faced criticism after Women’s Voices: Women Vote registration mailers in North Carolina went out after the primary election registration deadline, confusing some voters. [1]
Gardner’s tactics to try and register people to vote have drawn criticism from elections officials all over the country. She has been accused of using misleading mailers among other things.
Exactly what occurred in Virginia.
And this is in her history.
In 2016, the Voter Participation Center sent out letters in Colorado that said “Government Document enclosed” on the front. It also said that recipients were either 18 or about to turn 18 although most recipients were already registered to vote. Gardner defended the letters by saying that states do not keep lists of people who were not registered to vote and they had to create the list by other means.
But wait. There’s more.
In 2020, similar letters were sent out by the Voter Participation Center across the country. Many of the recipients believed the letters came from government agencies and not from an outside group.
Exactly what occurred in Virginia, except “across the country.”
In addition, some letters were addressed to family pets. Some election officials believed the letter contributed to voter confusion.
Since 2004, the Voter Participation Center claims to have “signed up 2.7 million voters.”[6] However, the group’s efforts have been criticized for being imprecise,[7] misleading,[8] ineffective,[9] and potentially illegal.[10] Moreover, the group’s ties to the Clinton family and the liberal agitation group MoveOn.org have drawn questions about the group’s purported non-partisanship.[11]

Ms. Gardner was a pioneer in recognizing unmarried women as a key political population, and was one of the first to identify and understand the implications of the “marriage gap” between unmarried and married women in their registration and voting behaviors.
I speak Leftist, so I’ll translate: married women can go to hell. They tend to be more family-driven, obviously, and also tend to be a tad more Conservative.
She is further described as “an innovator in metrics-based voter registration and turnout outreach,”
Not wanting him to feel left out, the Center For Voter Information ABOUT US also mentions Tom Lopach as CVI’s chief executive officer. BallotPedia says:
Tom Lopach is a Democratic political advisor in the state of Montana. He served as chief of staff to Gov. Steve Bullock (D) from 2017 to 2019, when he began serving on Bullock’s 2020 presidential campaign.[1] Lopach is the former executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) and former chief of staff to Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.).[2]
He worked for Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Jon Tester, and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
You guessed it. Totally unaffiliated.
Something tells me that I think you’re starting to identify something of a trend here. I don’t know. Call me crazy, but Page Gardner doesn’t really sound “unaffiliated” to me, or Tom, and the Center For Voter Information doesn’t really sound “unaffiliated” to me. It instead sounds rather “afilliated.”
I speak Leftist, so I’ll translate: Page Gardner’s site LIED about being “unaffiliated,” and ABC 13 Virginia Beach conducted a shallow, biased, lazy and shitty “investigation.” Air quotes.
Now I’ll readily admit, I’m no journalist, brain surgeon or rocket scientist. I don’t claim to be. All I am is an ancient, hairy, obese reprobate with a blog and a radio show.
But I also have something else: a curiosity and willingness to do the job the American Media Maggots won’t. And something that apparently the American Media Maggots don’t have access to at work: the internet.

A police investigation has been launched into the alleged ballot harvesting plot helping progressive “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar.
“ALLEGATIONS OF VOTER FRAUD BEING EVALUATED,” the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) announced on Twitter Monday, hours after President Trump called for an investigation into the “misdeeds.”
“The MPD is aware of the allegations of vote harvesting. We are in the process of looking into the validity of those statements,” the department said.
The force added that “no further information is available at this time,” including whether the Democratic congresswoman would be involved in the initial investigation.

With the help of mass mail-in ballots, the illegal ballot harvesting operation could harvest 700,000 ballots, one Harris County Democrat operative allegedly bragged.
Because why not? That’s a significant accomplishment.
The investigators—a former FBI agent and former police officer—claim that Biden’s Texas Political Director Dallas Jones and his cohorts have been “hoarding mail-in and absentee ballots” and ordering operatives to them fill out for people in Harris County illegally, “including dead people, homeless people, and nursing home residents in the 2020 presidential election,” Patrick Howley of the National File reported.
The New York City Board of Elections on Tuesday admitted that nearly 100,000 Brooklyn voters received absentee ballot return envelopes with the wrong address and names labeled on them.
Valerie Vazquez-Diaz, a spokesperson for the board, told CNN the issue affected 99,477 voters. She blamed a third-party vendor, Phoenix Graphics, which had been contracted to print and mail the ballots to voters in Brooklyn and Queens. CNN has reached out to the company for comment.
Michael Ryan, the election board’s executive director, said at a meeting on Tuesday afternoon that the city has ordered the vendor to remail new ballots “to make certain that absolutely no disenfranchisement occurs in the borough of Brooklyn.”
Smell test.
“There’s just mass confusion about these ballots and what people are supposed to do with them,” Democrat Van Bramer said in an interview with the Post. “People were already not trusting this process and they were already not trusting the Board of Elections to count the ballot right.”

Democrat Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold sent a postcard to non-citizens and the dead encouraging them to register to vote so they can cast ballots in November.
Griswold sent a mailer to several people who are not eligible to vote, CBS4 reported, in a swing state that has a U.S. Senate seat on the ballot this year and could prove pivotal in the presidential race.
Karen Anderson said she received one addressed to her mother.
“Which sounds really nice except my mother has been dead four years and she hasn’t lived, voted, owned property, worked, or done anything other than visit Colorado since 1967,” Anderson told the news station.
CBS4 found a dozen other examples, including “a deceased woman in Las Animas County, six migrant workers in Otero County, a Canadian in Douglas County, a man from Lebanon in Jefferson County, and a British citizen in Arapahoe County.”
DA files charges against Allentown elections judge who darkened dots on ballots in Pa. House race

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin on Monday announced charges against an elections judge in Allentown’s 3rd Ward who was accused of tampering with ballots during the Democratic primary race for state representative between Enid Santiago and Peter Schweyer.
Everett “Erika” Bickford was charged with two election code violations: insertion and alteration of entries in documents, and prying into ballots, both misdemeanors.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg for one post or show.
Look, let’s be honest. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that people can’t vote in person. There is absolutely no need to flood voters with mail-in ballots, and no reason to crash the US Postal Service which, in truth, isn’t even remotely prepared to handle the crush.
This is purposeful. This is the Demorats trying to place ballot turds in the national punchbowl in an effort to confuse voters and sow anarchy across the US.
This is no coincidence. This was planned.

Since the passing of US Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday, September 18th, at home, at the age of 87, the world has turned upside down. Many issues are on the table.
Her personal life and her impact has already been discussed in ways I can’t begin to address and won’t. What I will do is address her politics and then the politics of “okay, so what next”?
Personally I’m sure she was a good woman — and it’s clear she had numerous challenges in her life, from her multiple bouts with cancer to her husband Marvin passing at the age of 78 back in 2010 of metastatic cancer himself.
That’s the personal aside. Now to politics. And that is this, which apparently no one save me seemed to notice or much care about.
How can an actual sitting Associate Supreme Court Justice eschew the United States Constitution when talking with a foreign power — in this case Egypt — about creating their own constitution?
If she doesn’t recommend our Constitution to anyone else in 2012, how can she be trusted to uphold it when anything comes before her?
Why would that be? I submit: positive vs negative rights.
The US Constitution is crafted in such a way as to tell our government what it can’t do against its citizens.
The rights granted United States citizens come from God, not government.
Our rights are “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” as set forth in the Declaration of Independence. Nowhere does any document guarantee any outcome whatsoever, nor should it. Opportunity? Of course so. For everyone.
However, it is the responsibility of persons to act, well, responsibly.
The vacancy created? We know that nature abhors a vacuum. And whereas before, Republicans were historically hesitant to wield power when they had it, it appears Mitch McConnell is set to deliver again — in re Merrick Garland.
Of course, that’s when the threats and screaming began.

Schumer: Ruth Bader Ginsburg seat should be filled by next president

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Friday night that the Senate should wait until next year to fill the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg‘s death.
“The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president,” Schumer said in a tweet.
Schumer’s tweet comes less than an hour after news broke that Ginsburg had died Friday at 87, throwing a landmine into an already chaotic presidential election year.
Schumer’s tweet is a word-for-word copy of a statement Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) released in 2016 after the election-year death of the late conservative Justice Antonin Scalia.
It also points to the looming battle over whether Senate Republicans will try to fill the seat in an election year, after leaving Scalia’s seat open until 2017 when President Trump appointed and the GOP-controlled Senate confirmed Justice Neil Gorsuch.
As the revered Barack Hussein Obama once chirped at Republicans, “elections have consequences.”
Did you ever know Demorats not to wield power when they had it? Hold back? Become remarkably circumspect, packed with good tidings, bipartisanship and compromise? Fuck no.
In a role reversal, do you possibly think they’d stop from filling the SCOTUS vacancy? Not on your damned life.
History Is on the Side of Republicans Filling a Supreme Court Vacancy in 2020

Choosing not to fill a vacancy would be a historically unprecedented act of unilateral disarmament.
If a Supreme Court vacancy opens up between now and the end of the year, Republicans should fill it. Given the vital importance of the Court to rank-and-file Republican voters and grassroots activists, particularly in the five-decade-long quest to overturn Roe v. Wade, it would be political suicide for Republicans to refrain from filling a vacancy unless some law or important traditional norm was against them. There is no such law and no such norm; those are all on their side. Choosing not to fill a vacancy would be a historically unprecedented act of unilateral disarmament. It has never happened once in all of American history. There is no chance that the Democrats, in the same position, would ever reciprocate, as their own history illustrates.
History supports Republicans filling the seat. Doing so would not be in any way inconsistent with Senate Republicans’ holding open the seat vacated by Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016. The reason is simple, and was explained by Mitch McConnell at the time. Historically, throughout American history, when their party controls the Senate, presidents get to fill Supreme Court vacancies at any time — even in a presidential election year, even in a lame-duck session after the election, even after defeat. Historically, when the opposite party controls the Senate, the Senate gets to block Supreme Court nominees sent up in a presidential election year, and hold the seat open for the winner. Both of those precedents are settled by experience as old as the republic. Republicans should not create a brand-new precedent to deviate from them.

‘Over our dead bodies’: Liberals threaten to ‘burn it all down’ if GOP replace Ginsburg before Election Day

Former CNN host Reza Aslan joined several other verified Twitter accounts in threatening violence if Senate Republicans attempt to fill the Supreme Court seat of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
“Over our dead bodies. Literally,” Aslan wrote in response to a tweet saying Sen. Mitch McConnell intends to fill Ginsberg’s seat, shortly after it was announced Friday that she had died at the age of 87.
Aslan also tweeted, “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f—ing thing down.”
“If McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots,” Washington Post and GQ writer Laura Bassett said.
Director of Communications at the Anti-Violence Project Eliel Cruz agreed with Willimon’s calls to shut things down by calling on people to march on Washington and “just shut it down ourselves.”
Aaron Gouveia, author of a new book titled Raising Boys To Be Good Men: A Parent’s Guide to Bringing Up Happy Sons in a World Filled with Toxic Masculinity, responded to McConnell’s call to fill the vacant seat by tweeting, “F— no. Burn it all down.”
Writer and LGBT activist Charlotte Clymer opted not to wait until Republicans pushed a Ginsburg replacement through, deciding instead to head straight to McConnell’s home on Friday night.
“His house is entirely dark,” she said later. “Significant police presence out front. It’s clear that he’s not here, as confirmed by a neighbor who is not fond of him. People are going home.”
Because that’s where the Demorat Party is these days.
McConnell received some support from fellow Republicans, including Sen. Ted Cruz, who agreed that a replacement should be voted on before the election, arguing that voters went to the polls in 2016 with the understanding they would likely be voting for the president who would fill Ginsburg’s seat.
“The president should next week nominate a successor to the court, and I think it is critical that the Senate takes up and confirms that successor before Election Day,” the Texas Republican said Friday night. “This nomination is why Donald Trump was elected.”
Then the standard Mark I, Model I JAFRs weighed in.
Several Senate Republicans, including Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Sen. Susan Collins, have made statements this year suggesting they would not support filling a SCOTUS vacancy this close to an election.
Democrats began vehemently opposing the move to fill the seat before the election immediately following Ginsburg’s death.
As indicated, there’s precedent.
There is historical precedent, as American Enterprise Institute fellow and former speechwriter for George W. Bush Marc Thiessen pointed out on Twitter, for Republicans to fill the seat so close to an election.
“*29 Presidents have had election year or lame duck vacancy -—all nominated someone,” Thiessen tweeted. “*8 x before election when other party controlled Senate — only 1 succeed. *10x before election when Pres and senate controlled by same party — 9 succeeded.”
Nancy Pelosi, of course, weighed in — in her preternaturally-cogent way.
In a slightly bizarre exchange, Stephanopoulos asks if the House would impeach Trump or Barr if Senate GOP tries to vote on a SCOTUS nom during lame duck session (to stall the confirmation), and Pelosi refuses to rule it out: “We have our options. Here’s What RBG Said About Filling a SCOTUS Vacancy in an Election Year

As the debate over what to do about the vacancy on the Supreme Court is only getting started, perhaps we should heed the advice of the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg herself as to what to do.
When a similar scenario occurred four years ago, following the death of Antonin Scalia, the Republican-controlled Senate blocked Barack Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. It was a controversial move, and Ginsburg had something to say about it: Ginsburg publicly called on the Senate to go through with the nomination.
“That’s their job,” she said in July 2016. “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the President stops being President in his last year.”
“Eight is not a good number for a collegial body that sometimes disagrees,” Ginsburg said on the issue a few months later during an event at the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who was with her, agreed. “I think we hope there will be nine as quickly as possible.”
“What we do is we automatically affirm the decision of the court below. No opinion is written, no reasons are given, and the affirmance has no precedential value,” Ginsburg explained. “It’s just as though we denied review.”

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she opposes proposals by Democratic presidential candidates to increase the number of seats on the Supreme Court because doing so would make it look partisan.
“It would be that — one side saying, ‘When we’re in power, we’re going to enlarge the number of judges, so we would have more people who would vote the way we want them to,’” Ginsburg told NPR in an interview that aired Wednesday.
“Nine seems to be a good number. It’s been that way for a long time,” she said Tuesday.
Several Democratic candidates have said they are open to increasing the size of the nine-justice court.
Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke said shortly after entering the race that expanding the court to 15 members is an “idea we should explore.” Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has made court reform a centerpiece of his campaign, including the idea of court expansion. Sens. Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Kirsten Gillibrand have said they are open to the idea.
But Ginsburg, the court’s most senior liberal justice, said the idea contradicts the premise of an independent judicial branch.

Sen. Ted Cruz: After Ginsburg — 3 reasons why Senate must confirm her successor before Election Day
Here’s why President Trump must nominate a successor next week and why the Senate must confirm that successor before Election Day:
First, this nomination is why the American people elected Donald Trump as president and this confirmation is why the American people voted for a Republican majority in the U.S. Senate.
Second, twenty-nine times in our nation’s history we’ve seen a Supreme Court vacancy in an election year or before an inauguration and in every instance, the president proceeded with a nomination.
And finally, as we approach what is likely to be a contested election that hangs in the balance of the Supreme Court, our nation is at risk of a constitutional crisis without nine justices on the bench.

But no. That was her decision. And their decision. No one hosed the Demorats but Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the Demorats themselves.
At this point, it appears that Chuck Grassley and Mitt Romney have said they’ll vote in the Senate instead of refusing to vote.
Trump is expected to announce his nomination for SCOTUS this Friday or Saturday.
I suggest it may be Amy Coney Barrett.
And then next Tuesday? Will there be an actual debate between President Trump and Joe Biden? Will Joe suddenly be feeling poorly?
