Presidential Debate #1: Domestic Policy

The candidates debated at 6pm Pacific, from the University of Denver on Wednesday.

In my opinion, Mr Romney made any number of statements regarding facts that Mr Obama simply did not refute.  Obama obfuscated and changed topic.

Romney: “We know that the path we are taking is not working.”

Bingo.

Mr Romney proved that he has so much more experience than Mr Obama as to be ludicrous.  As governor; as a businessman; as a meeter-of-budgets; as a job creator; as a private business owner; as a manager; as a LEADER.

In this first debate, I would give a serious nudge to Mitt Romney as a winner; Obama stood tall but he fell back on repeated statement with few facts.  Both men withheld themselves.  Obama emphasized he was a fighter for the Middle Class.  But that was a massively hollow argument when his actions prove that he couldn’t quite care less about the Middle Class.  The only thing about “class” Mr Obama understands is that of CLASS WARFARE.

A brief bit of Roaming Through History with presidential debates:

Clinton’s “debate moment” against GHW Bush:

Al Gore, in 2000, tries to physically intimidate George Bush during the debate by violating his personal space:

Here, Obama kicks John McCain to the curb (truly, not too terribly difficult, considering):

I repeat: Romney ahead.  He kept composure and fought with facts.  He came out more aggressively than I suspected he would — and good for him.

Obama, when confronted with actual FACTS — as I insisted Romney do — Mr Obama had little if any cogent retort.  He seemed to be intensely scrutinizing his notes many times, head down.

I repeat: kill Obama with nothing more than FACTS.

Jugular time, Mr Romney.

Another business fleeing Fornicalia THIS WEEK: Campbell’s Soup

It comes as no surprise to those who read my blog that I live high in the Sierra Nevada mountains and work in Sacramento, Fornicalia.

There is a reason for this.

Sacramento, of course, being the capital of Fornicalia and, thusly, the proverbial Belly of the Beast.  The Demorat Belly of the Beast.

The Beast that is responsible for the continuing destruction of this once-beautiful and once-proud state.  Taken down and disassembled peg-by-peg and piece-by-piece at the hands of Leftists, Socialists, Demorats and Social Experimenters.

To the point, now, where the state finds itself in financial insolvency, disarray, and its counties and cities charged with heeding not only onerous federal mandates but those of the state itself, as well.

Resulting in the breaking and bankruptcy of various cities and counties within Fornicalia.

And, perhaps, time to reflect: why have I always termed my state, California, as “Fornicalia“?

It is because my state ends up fucking itself as well as its inhabitants, its neighbors, its friends, its enemies — damned near everyone into which it comes in contact.

And so it continues.

In Sacramento, I recently wrote about Comcast leaving Sacramento’s call centers behind for other states.  Comcast is fleeing Fornicalia.  And rightly so.

Now, this Thursday, another major Sacramento manufacturer — Campbell’s Soupannounced it is pulling up stakes and leaving the state wholesale, to the tune of 700 jobs.  No, no “relocations.”  No, no “re-training.”  Simply leaving and laying off workers.  It has been a presence in Sacramento since 1947.

In a sentence, Sacramento lost 1,000 jobs in one week.

Demorats control the state.  They control Sacramento.  They control the electorate.  They control the purse strings.  They control all the politics.  They control the bribes, the corruption, the naked causticity of that Belly of the Beast.  Republicans and Conservatives in Sacramento and my state are nothing more than an asterisk, an addendum, a bibliography.

That said, could one possibly conclude that Fornicalia Demorat Senate President proTem Darrell Steinberg would be potentially a tad bit “concerned” when two major businesses flee the state’s capital in one week?  Hello?  Even a wee bit concerned?

Uh, no.  Apparently not.  In fact, Steinberg decided to double down:

“Senator Darrell Steinberg says that despite the Campbell’s factory shutting down, the private sector in Sacramento is improving.”

Really?

Steinberg: Economic Climate Not To Blame For Companies Leaving Region

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Lawmakers reacted to the shut down of the Campbell’s plant Thursday.

At the capital, Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg says despite this latest shutdown of the Cambell’s factory, the private sector in Sacramento is actually improving.

“Facts are stubborn things, and the facts are the facts,” said Steinberg.

Within the past week, Sacramento has lost 1,000 jobs, but Steinberg says the state shouldn’t be taking the blame.

“It’s not California’s or Sacramento’s business climate, in fact, evidence is to the contrary,” said Steinberg.

Further:

But another fact remains; businesses are leaving California besides Comcast and Campbell’s. Waste Connections is leaving the area for Texas due to what their CEO called an unfriendly business climate in California, and Rancho Cordova based Vision Service Plan is threatening to follow.

But here’s the frosting on the cake:

“Come on in, talk to me, talk to the governor’s office, if there’s things we can do, things that can keep you in California and we’ll be glad to act,” said Steinberg.

Right.

It’s Business’s JOB to solicit Sacramento for workable situations.

I say NO.

It’s Sacramento’s job to beg for businesses to STAY!

So: THANKS Demorats.  You resolute losers.

Truism for Sunday:

“Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured… but not everyone must prove they are a citizen.”
Now add this, “Many of those who refuse, or are unable, to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens.”

-Ben Stein

Trust me, ladies and gentlemen, there are people who are completely unable to understand the above quote whatsoever.

“Romney’s Gaffe” — no real controversy, just the truth:

First, the video from what was thought to be a private fundraiser in May of this year:

The DEM/MSM is taking this video from Mother Jones viral today, and every organ that can write, broadcast, bleat or whine is opining on its content.  The DEM/MSM is saying that Mitt Romney kissed half of the electorate goodbye in the video.

Sadly, in my estimation and that of others, what Romney said tends to be the truth.  The additional truth is that people don’t care to have their greed placed quite so bluntly on Front Street.  Makes them uncomfortable, you see.

The truth is — again — that too many Americans on numerous levels simply want:

The DEM/MSM is going to ensure that Romney’s video is in the forefront 24/7 for at least the next week, minimum.

That said, since any campaign involves a war of words, historically, everything is up for grabs.  If Romney’s words bear examination, I submit that Mr Obama’s words are also up for critical examination — in terms of “I actually believe in redistribution.”

This, of course, isn’t a fabrication on my part.  I’m not nearly so technologically facile as those who know me realize.

And allow me to state the obvious with regard to “earned success,” which is to what Mr Romney refers.  From Arthur Brooks of the American Enterprise Institute:

People take pride in success, in doing things for themselves.  This is the foundational point of Conservatism.  In three words: Free Cheese Corrupts.

Question: is this Romney’s proverbial “death knell”?

“Socialism always promises happiness, and delivers misery.”
– Arthur Brooks

I could not possibly have said it better.

General Motors pushing U.S. to sell stake: Obama Administration says NO

From the Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch:

By William Spain

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — The Treasury Department is resisting General Motors’ push for the government to sell off its stake in the auto maker, The Wall Street Journal reports. Following a $50 billion bailout in 2009, the U.S. taxpayers now own almost 27% of the company. But the newspaper said GM executives are now chafing at that, saying it hurts the company’s reputation and its ability to attract top talent due to pay restrictions. Earlier this year, GM GM +0.10% presented a plan to repurchase 200 million of the 500 million shares the U.S. holds with the balance being sold via a public offering. But officials at the Treasury Department were not interested as selling now would lead to a multibillion dollar loss for the government, the newspaper noted.

See the full article here.

The Chevrolet Volt is a lie.  GM’s market share is falling.  Production of the Volt has stopped — again.  The federal government is the current largest purchaser of GM products.  Imagine that.

You see, ladies and gentlemen, this is what you get when you climb into bed with a rattlesnake.  Sooner or later it will bite you, no matter your “good intentions” or what you “feel” in terms of emotions.  Rattlesnakes cannot change their nature.  Neither can the federal government, unless you choke it within an inch of its life.

My own law enforcement department has not learned this lesson and I doubt that, with the current crop of administrators and those growing up absent my corruptive influence, it ever will.  We are Money Whores for the federal government.  A disturbing bulk of law enforcement is whoring itself for federal dollars.

So few persons and entities and agencies and states understand the concept that, when you take federal dollars, you are OWNED.  GM is just now beginning to understand the fool’s notion that somehow its results would somehow be different.

Those persons, agencies, entities or states who refuse federal dollars and refuse to whore themselves out — they are the ones worthy of admiration and respect.

Finally: despite this, GM needs to collapse if for no other reason than their administrators failed to see this conclusion coming.  So apparently, yes, they are that politically and managerially ignorant.  This in itself should keep America from purchasing GM cars until the entire top changes.

The government does notown” me.
